Virgin and Child with the infant St. John the Baptist and St Dorothy and Seraphim tryptique

German School, (16th century)

The attribution of this portable altarpiece remains uncertain through lack of precisely comparable material. It is obviously of German origin, and of unusual iconography, as there are so many saints associated with the central theme of the Virgin and Child with the Infant St. John the Baptist.
